Planeta Formación y Universidades – Nex·ia showcases progress in applied AI education
Planeta Formación y Universidades – Nex·ia, the centre for Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) training developed by Planeta Formación y Universidades in collaboration with Deloitte and Google, presented its initial progress in applied AI education and employability during an event held at the headquarters of La Razón newspaper.
The event was opened by Francisco Marhuenda, Director of La Razón, who emphasised that AI is already part of our daily lives and stressed the importance of rigorous and ethical training. Also speaking at the event was Miguel López Valverde, Consejero de Digitalización de la Comunidad de Madrid, who highlighted Nex·ia’s pioneering role as a meeting point between technology, knowledge, and enterprise.
During the event, Jordi Marín, Director of Nex·ia, reported that more than 5,000 individuals are currently receiving AI training within the Planeta Formación y Universidades ecosystem, with nearly 900 certifications issued. He also announced the creation of a dedicated academic chair and doctoral programmes. Marín stressed the need to integrate AI transversally across all disciplines, not just within technical fields.
The event also featured an intervention by Luis González Gugel, AI Partner at Deloitte, who highlighted the importance of collaboration and training in successfully implementing AI within organisations. Gonzalo Romero, Head of Google Education Iberia, presented AI as a tool to support learning and underscored Nex·ia’s strategic role as a global educational model.
The centre also presented findings from the "Barometer: Artificial Intelligence and the Employability of the Future", developed in collaboration with GAD3, which revealed that 72% of university students use AI tools without having received specific training—underlining the urgent need for initiatives like Nex·ia. A second study, focusing on business needs and future professional profiles, is scheduled for publication in October.
