Barcelona Culinary Hub presents the Cultural Promotion of Gastronomy Award at the 9th Gastro Awards by La Razón
Barcelona Culinary Hub, a higher education institution in gastronomy belonging to Planeta Formación y Universidades, participated as a sponsor in the 9th Gastro Awards organized by La Razón, held on November 3 at the Hotel Hospes Palacio de Arenales & Spa in Cáceres.
During the gala, Barcelona Culinary Hub presented the Cultural Promotion of Gastronomy Award to the Science & Cooking World Congress, a project that connects science, cuisine, and innovation, and promotes knowledge transfer between the academic and professional fields. The award was presented by Anna Torrents, Head of Communications at the school of culinary and gastronomic management, and received by Pere Castells, president of the congress.
The ceremony, hosted by journalist Roberto Brasero, opened with remarks from Francisco Marhuenda, director of La Razón, before moving on to the recognitions. Among the honorees were the Atrio restaurant (Cáceres), named Restaurant of the Year; sommelier Gemma Vela (Mandarin Oriental Ritz); the VelascoAbellà restaurant; and the historic Horcher, both located in Madrid.
The award presented by Barcelona Culinary Hub highlights the trajectory of the Science & Cooking World Congress for its ongoing work in bringing scientific research closer to culinary practice and fostering an international dialogue with real impact. The next edition of the congress will take place in Barcelona next week, from November 10 to 12.
