Planeta Formación y Universidades and the Embassy of Ecuador will offer 230 study grants for Ecuadorians living in Spain

The Embassy of Ecuador and Planeta Formación y Universidades presented today the second edition of the study grants programme aimed at Ecuadorians living in Spain. 

The study grants programme is part of the Cooperation Protocol signed between the Embassy and Planeta Formación y Universidades on 7 September 2022. In this call 230 grants are offered to access courses of: Vocational Training (VET), Continuing Education, Degrees, Postgraduate and Doctorate.

The presentation ceremony of the new edition of study grants aimed at Ecuadorians living in Spain took place at the headquarters of Planeta Formación y Universidades, on Avenida Diagonal in Barcelona, and was presided over by José Creuheras, President of Grupo Planeta, and by the Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador in Spain, Wilma Andrade.

Ambassador Andrade and the CEO of Planeta Formación y Universidades, Carlos Giménez, signed an addendum to the agreement, by which both parties undertake to continue promoting access to higher education for Ecuadorians in Spain who stand out for their academic merits.

The event was also attended by the Consul of Ecuador in Barcelona, Patricio Garcés, and Borys Mejías, director of Pro Ecuador in Spain.

The study grants programme includes three types: 1) those that cover 100% of the cost of training; 2) those that cover 75%; and 3) those that cover 50% of the cost of training.

The call for applications for these grants will open on 19 March and will end on 30 June 2024. Students can apply online through the following website: https://ayudasestudioecu.planetaformacion.com

The Planeta Formación institutions and universities participating in this programme are: Barcelona Culinary Hub, BIU University, EAE Business School, Esdesign, Iberonex, iFP Innovación en Formación Profesional, INESDI Business Techschool, OBS Business School, Ostelea, The Core School, UNIE Universidad, Universidad Internacional de Valencia – VIU and Universitat Carlemany.

Ambassador Wilma Andrade thanked Planeta Formación and Universidades for their commitment to Ecuador and its migrants: "President Daniel Noboa firmly believes that education and academic training are the right path to security and development. From the Embassy we will spread the word about this programme to make it a success", he emphasised.
